The Mayor paid us a visit!

The Ceremonial Mayor of Salford, Cllr Garrido, came to see us in action today. The children asked lots of interesting questions and were very pleased that the Mayor had come to our school.

Our house and vice captains have worked together to produce e-safety advice for their fellow pupils. Once editing is complete, it will be sent out to the children.

We are 50 years old this year!

We will be organising events to celebrate our 50th anniversary. If you have any memories, pictures etc, please bring them into school.

Hockey superstars!

Well done to our hockey team who took part in the Irlam and Cadishead hockey tournament at ICC.
They won a game, drew four games and lost one. What a great effort as it was their first time in the tournament.

Remembrance Day

Hazel Class has made a poppy bouquet and they will be laying it at the Cenotaph this week ready for Remembrance Day.

Gingerbread 2's surprise letter from Balmoral!

Gingerbread 2 wrote to the Queen to wish her a happy 90th birthday. They were very excited to receive a card and letter to say thank you.

Our new Nursery children are joining us tomorrow for a stay and play. They will also have lunch as well. Our next one is next week and we are looking forward to seeing you!

Year 3/4 are off to The Lowry to perform at the MAPAS summer concert. A world class performance on a world class stage!

Den Day raised over £200 for Save the Children and School.

New end of year report format

The annual end of year reports will be out on Wednesday 13th July. We have devised a new report format to give you more, succinct information about your child's progress and attainment.

Red Pepper with the school improvement team

Come along to the hall on Tuesdays after school for fun family games, food tasting and healthy lifesyle information. No need to book, just come along!

Our Easter egg raffle raised £79.80 for school funds.

Stay safe on the internet

Years 3,4,5 and 6 are taking part in safer internet sessions with Michelle from The Life Education Bus. These sessions will take place on Wednesday 3rd February.

We are going global with Manchester United!!!

Five children represented our school at the official Manchester United Christmas card photo shoot. What they did not know was that they would be meeting the whole of the first team and the manager!
We were so proud of their behaviour and attitude on the day.

What a busy week!

We have had a busy week at school. Year 3 /4 had a Greek day, Year 4/5 went to Chester to learn more about the Romans and Year 5/6 made their own short animated films. Watch out for them!

Spooky Dinner

Thank you to everyone who came for lunch today. It was fantastic to see so many families at our spooky dinner.
We hope you enjoyed it as there were lots of empty plates! We are planning to do this again for Christmas dinner. Watch this space!

We held our coffee and cake event for MacMillan on Friday and it raised £198. Thank you for coming along, sending in cakes and being very generous with your donations. All the money will go to a very worthy cause and we were very happy to be part of it.

Sports day

Thank you for supporting our sports day. The children competed in their house teams - Achieve, Accomplish, Endeavour and Aspire. Wear your badges with pride! We hope you enjoyed it too!

Sensational Samba!

Year 3 /4 performed their sensational samba music at the MAPAS summer concert ( wider opportunities). They did school and their families proud! Thank you as well to all the families who came along to support us.

We sent a team to the Irlam and Cadishead Shield competition. The children tried very hard and worked well as a team.

Jungle gym

Our 'jungle gym' is being well used. Thank you to Mrs McCann for developing the project, The Hamilton Davies Trust for funding the project and Sam Wilkinson for installing the gym.

Our phone lines are back up and running again. Thank you for your patience and for coming into school with messages.

Year 1 forest school trip

Year 1 had a fantastic time splashing in puddles and getting muddy at their day out at forest school. They all said it was the best trip ever!
Well done everyone and thank you for representing our school well with your behaviour and attitude to learning.

Dodgeball competition

Well done to Josh, Cole, Tristan, Harvey, Westley and Clayton for their great effort in the dodgeball competition. This was the first dodgeball competition we had taken part in and the children came fifth out of eight teams.

Well done, also, to the children who have made a big effort to improve their behaviour this week. Keep it up, guys, and thank you for your support!
Thank you to parents who have come into school to pledge their support for good behaviour both in and out of school. It has been much appreciated.

The Life Education Bus

The Life Education Bus paid us a visit last week and we learnt about keeping and staying safe. Thanks, Michelle and Harold the Giraffe!

World Autism Awareness Week

The children have recently taken part in activities to raise the awareness of Autism. They spent a day learning about what autism is and how it affects people.

The Gingerbread House on Silver Street

We are expanding our ASD provison with the approval and support of Salford LA.

The former Silver Street children's home will be refurbished to provide 12 extra places for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder( ASD) who are in need of extra support within mainstream education.

The refurbishment will be completed later this year, ready for our new pupils to be admitted from September 2015.
