At Moorfield, we recognise that at times, some of our children and their families need extra support and help - This may be because of a family crisis, bereavement, issues within the family home, difficulties with behaviour etc. We aim to support children and their families so that they progress well, both academically and emotionally/socially. We pride ourselves on the pastoral provision that we offer.
As the Child and Family Support Officer, I work alongside the whole school community to ensure that the right level of support and advice is in place. I am also a trained counsellor.
When necessary, I liaise with other agencies in order to secure the best outcomes for all of the children at Moorfield. I am one of the designated persons for safeguarding within the school.
On a Thursday morning, I support the school nursing and health visiting team and we run the Stork Club - please see the resource section of this page for more information.
In addition to supporting children and families in need, I also monitor attendance and ensure that all children come to school on time.
If you would like to see me for a chat or if you need any help/support, please book an appointment with Mrs Swindells in the school office or alternatively, speak to me when you see me around school.
